Attack of the Feels

Sorry, if you’re looking for a regular episode then this just isn’t the week for you. Instead of your regularly scheduled comic and video game comparison I’m taking this week to highlight just some of the many people that have made this show what it is today. Running the spectrum from purely podcast inspiration to full on friendship there’s no way I can talk about everyone that needs to be here.

Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety with Tyler Kirby (Better Than Static)

Imagine a world where Venom is cool enough to get his own comic, but when they make the game they go and name it after a Spider-Man run instead. That just sounds horrible doesn’t it?

You don’t have to, because Tyler Kirby from Better than Static returns to the show to talk Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety.

Batman Forever with Alex Whiteley (Thors-kin)

In the 1990s Batman was everything. A comic movie franchise, cartoons, you name it. And then things started to fall off the rails. Tim Burton gets pushed out the door and we get this. But will the game be worth it despite the movie? Or will we get yet another example of a weak game that exists only because of a movie tie in?
Listen as Alex Whiteley from Thors-Kin joins the show to talk Batman Forever.

Spider-Man the Animated Series with Matt Gardner (Floating Hands Studios)

Spider-Man makes another appearance and this time time it’s based on the 1994 animated series. So with such an iconic part of my childhood as the basis, this game has to be good? Right?

Listen in as Matt Gardner from Floating Hands Studios and writer of the comic Alabaster Shadows comes on the show to take a look at this SNES and Genesis take on our favorite wall crawler.

Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems with Scott Thrower (Fairy Tales for Unwanted Children)

The Avengers make their return here, this time taking on Thanos in a very loose retelling of the Infinity War story. You know, nowhere near the time the movie was released in theaters or on DVD or anything.

Listen in as Scott Thrower from Fairy Tales for Unwanted Children  joins the show to talk Marvel Super Heroes in War of the Gems!

Spider-Man X-Men Arcade’s Revenge with Adam Higgins

So you’ve got Spider-Man, a character with so many games out at this point that I’m too lazy to count. You’ve got the X-Men, who have games out but they mostly suck. But both of them are beloved franchises, both helped to save Marvel. And you’ve got Adam Higgins from Odd Dad Out, who admittedly has not directly saved Marvel. Put them all together and what do you get? Let’s just say that the LJN rainbow strikes again.
