John Svedese Out as Co-Owner, Chief Creative Officer, Patrick Hickey Jr. Becomes Sole Owner of Legacy Comix

As of today (I know it’s late, don’t judge me) John Svedese is out as Co-Owner and Chief Creative Officer of Legacy Comix. And I didn’t see this coming at all.

You can read the official Legacy Comix release, but here are the highlights as I see them with the commentary you never asked for.

  1. This doesn’t read to me at all like Patrick’s split from Lesser Known Comics. I doubt we’ll hear the full story of what happened here but I doubt it’s anything really juicy anyway.
  2. The previous point I think is backed up by the fact that digital copies of John’s books will still be available. My guess is that physical copies of KROOM being limited is because of what’s already been printed or far enough into the printing process to stop.

Honestly I think that’s about it. A new company changing things up doesn’t seem out of the ordinary for me. You can never tell what it’s going to be like to work with someone until you actually work with them.

I’m not in a position to make assumptions about what happened here, but I think we’ll be seeing more work from all parties involved in the future.
