There’s something just so endearing about The Smurfs. Mostly I think it’s because it’s just such a simple concept. Little blue dudes have an adventure and it all wraps up nicely by the end. Seems pretty safe and kid friendly doesn’t it?

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. Good thing I have October K Santarelli here to help blow some of those ideas out of the water. Listen in as we take a dive into Smurf history and explore some of the dark secrets of these little blue demons.

Comics can come from some weird places. Which most of the time is a shot at the writer or artist and the fact that they’re a weirdo. But sometimes is just a basic factual statement. You know, like when a nation makes a comic about a war they had no part in just because.

But who would ever do a thing like that? Not Insane Ian, but he did stop by the show to talk about North and South which does exactly that. Except under the name Les Tuniques Bleues if you’re reading it in the original French but known as The Bluecoats when translated into English.Continue Reading

Men in Black is a franchise that I don’t think will ever leave the public consciousness. Sure, we didn’t know the comic even existed when the movie came out and we were 10 years old (I’m not doing that math but the age seems right for me). And for most kids when a cartoon happens as well that’s just a goldmine waiting to happen.

Good thing Kristian Cabrera from Simping for Senpai is here to help make up for my childhood foolishness. And maybe to uncover some secret alien related government tomfoolery.

Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were the introduction to anime for a ton of people my age. So imagine how cool it must have been to finally have a game of it? And a fighter at that! What could possibly go wrong?

Listen in as Luke Herr from Multiversal Q, Exiled, and RPG Pals Club comes on the show to talk about the first Dragon Ball Z game made that came out in North America, but not the first one that came out in North America. Don’t worry the craziness is just getting started.Continue Reading

In another bonus episode that’s totally not just to manipulate the numbering so I can pull something off later (that’s a lie and we all know it but we’ll roll with it anyway) Kayleigh Osborne comes back to take a look at one of the world’s most well known and important comic characters. Theatrical films, cartoons from multiple decades, and running pretty much since the 1930s. Yup, it’s Tintin. Take a listen as Kayleigh joins to talk about this comic franchise that somehow just hasn’t caught on in the US yet. We never do figure out why it hasn’t.Continue Reading

Martians! Except they’re from Earth, and blue… so SMURFS! Listen as Chris basically has no idea what’s going on and return guest Kayleigh knows exactly what’s going on as these two discuss The Smurfs in comic, cartoon, and game form.Continue Reading
