Post apocalyptic mayhem. New societies and population groups popping up and insisting that they are living the right way. The power struggle between might and right. Giant weaponized vehicles storming across the desert sands. OK, maybe not that last one, but what do I know?

One of the things that I like about anime (and manga probably too if I’d consistently read it) is magical realism. There’s just something cool about a world where paper animals can be brought to life or dragons are real or things like that and it’s not a big deal. Or where people can fall into a haunted spring and get transformed if they’re hit with the right, or wrong, temperature of water.
