A common ghost story I hear is that the spirit can’t pass on because of unfinished business. Which is insane because we all have that, but we’ll roll with it. Imagine if instead you came back in a corporeal form to get revenge on the people who had done you wrong. Oh yeah, and you’re basically immortal until the job is done?

Justin Williams from SuperTangent comes by to look at that exact situation in The Crow City of Angels. And no, you didn’t miss an episode for the first movie tie in game since they never made one of those.Continue Reading

I know, one of the problems with the show is that the handheld versions of games exist. And that if there’s a console version I tend to just ignore the hand held ones because, let’s face it, are they ever better than the console version anyway? Especially with a series like Turok that’s built around being a first person shooter on a screen that can show really good colors that’s also bigger than 2 square inches. That’s like 5 square centimeters for all of my listeners not in the US.
Blair Farrell from Comic Gamers Assemble is here to help me see if my thought process even has any merit to it as we take a look at 5 different Turok handheld ports and see how they actually play without having to worry about those pesky home console games that always hog the spotlight.Continue Reading

Spawn was an interesting character for me growing up, and I’ll bet I’m not the only one.  I could recognize him no problem. I’m pretty sure I knew that he was a comic character. But I couldn’t have told you anything about him besides things that you could guess from his appearance.

Listen in as Adam Higgins from Odd Dad Out comes to reminisce about a childhood idea of Spawn and the hilarity of having an E rated Spawn game.Continue Reading

Alright, so we’ve looked at a lot of Batman. Like a lot. So let’s take a look at future Batman. Except not Bruce because it’s the future and Bruce is old and tired, you know, all the other things that old people are.

Listen in as Dan and Jake McMahon from DC Supersons come on the show to talk about Batman Beyond, the future of super heroing, and fuzzy good boys.Continue Reading

The 1990s were a fun time in comics. A lot of the indie comics from the 80s had either run their course or were brought into one of the major publishers. But the indies still existed, and Scud the Disposable Assassin was one of those that came out.

Listen in as Brandon Cruz from Interdimensional RSS comes to talk about how a comic that not a lot of us have probably heard of have lead to (what he and tons of other people have told me) what is one of the best animated things in existence. Continue Reading

Oh, you thought that we were done with Dragon Ball related stuff did you? Or that the manga ending meant that the anime would end too. Well jokes on you because there’s a whole different anime series that was only inspired by the manga and of course we got a game to go with that too. Like it or not.

Listen in as Eli Sirota from The Not So Crazy Podcast of Blizzard the Wizard and Eli comes by to look at Dragon Ball GT Final Bout and give us another dose of why the Dragon Ball franchise is so well loved by its fans. When it does things right anyway.Continue Reading

Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z were the introduction to anime for a ton of people my age. So imagine how cool it must have been to finally have a game of it? And a fighter at that! What could possibly go wrong?

Listen in as Luke Herr from Multiversal Q, Exiled, and RPG Pals Club comes on the show to talk about the first Dragon Ball Z game made that came out in North America, but not the first one that came out in North America. Don’t worry the craziness is just getting started.Continue Reading

The Marvel cinematic universe might have only existed since 2008, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t Marvel movies before. And I’m not talking about that quack of a Howard the Duck movie either.

Listen in as TJ Johnson from Voice from the Underground and Lakers Fast Break comes to talk about the awesomeness of Blade, being a fractional vampire, and the joys of early 3D gaming.Continue Reading

Imagine a world with dinosaur and man existing together except there’s also modern weaponry and plasma rifles and, well, if you’re not convinced now that it’s awesome I’m not sure what’s wrong with you. Also it’s not the Savage Land.

One of the things that I really love about Spider-Man is how big the cast of other characters is, especially the crossover with other Marvel heroes. Maybe some of that is because he’s the first place I really saw that.

And maybe some of why the first Spider-Man game for PS1 is my all time favorite Spider-Man game in the whole world no question is because it’s the first one I really got to play through over and over and over. Listen in as Paul Csomo from Varmints joins the show to finally talk about what is possibly the game that I get asked about doing the most. Easily top 3 worst case.Continue Reading

We’re creeping up to the big boys here, this time stopping by Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. And once again, we get a stripped down version on PlayStation that takes out tag team but at least this time gives you extra modes to make up for it. If that makes up for it is up to you.

Listen in as Justin Williams from SuperTangent joins the show to take a look at Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and we try not to cry about the lack of Sega awesomeness in our childhoods. Continue Reading

Pretty much everyone dreams of flying. And of not getting on the wrong side of gangsters and Nazis. But mostly of flying. So imagine how cool it would be if a jetpack just fell into your lap! Or rather the seat of your airplane. Oh who care, YOU’VE GOT A JET PACK!

Listen in as Derek Graziano from Rolling Misadventures comes by the show to take a look at The Rocketeer and a pair of games that really couldn’t have been much more different if they’d tried.Continue Reading

Alright, things are really starting to creep closer and closer to Marvel vs Capcom with a game that finally introduces the concept of Marvel characters fighting against people from a whole different universe. Plus a dose of Japan getting an amazing game that didn’t come out over here and there’s reason why and I’m not salty about that at all. Nope, not one bit.

Listen in as Chris Sims from The ISB comes to talk about X-Men vs Street Fighter and we geek out about X-Men and Street Fighter and fighting games in general.Continue Reading
