Alright guys, we really need to get the house ready to sell. Despite saying that I've been working on that most of the free time has been spent working on the podcast in one way or another. Good for content, not so good for getting into a new house.

It’s finally happened. I got totally peer pressured into reading a comic. Not only that, but in getting the creators on the show too. Although let’s be real about Witchblood for a minute. I definitely would have read this anyway and thought that I should get the creators on the show. That cover + all the hype I’d seen about this one + Vault Comics = I’ll pick it up. It’s simple math.

I know I should judge a book by it’s cover. Especially a comic because there are at least 37 different covers and I can only get so many of them. But it’s so hard with Hollow Heart because this cover is so enticing. Why is there a dude staring at me? What is the dude staring at me from? How do the eyes go all shiny like that?

It’s a thing we’ve all seen before. Post apocalyptic worlds and the groups who rise to power in which to rule them. Comics have such a long history that there’s no way anybody can know everything about every character. M.O.D.O.K. is that way for me. I have an idea of who this giant killing organism is but only because he’s happened to be in other things.

I picked up this comic to review because I had never heard of this hero before. There is a reason for that. This character is primarily found in older TV series in Japan. However, let me tell you Marvel has done a great job at creating a fast paced story with the character borrowed from Tsuburaya Productions. The essence of this comic is big monster fights which I am a huge fan of. Though there is a new twist on the big monster fights. The reader gets a protagonist to follow and root for in these fights.Continue Reading

There are so many ways to experience the world that is the Dune universe. Your experience could be from the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert or its five sequels, the 1984 movie based off the novel directed by David Lynch, Dune the Graphic Novel, or you could choose this 12 part series published by BOOM! Studios. I know the big experience I am looking forward to is the Dune movie coming out in 2021 that is directed by Denis Villeneuve which could have been the deciding factor in picking up this comic.Continue Reading
